Honoring our parents is one way that wisdom says will lead us to a better life. Consider this bit of wisdom:
“My son, keep your father's commands and forsake not your mother's teaching. Bind them on your heart always; tie them around your neck. When you walk, they will lead you; when you lie down, they will watch over you; and when you awake, they will talk with you. For the command is a lamp and the teaching a light.”
Most parents want their children to grow up and have a better life than they did. And the hard work and sacrifice they made for us as their children show us a way to a better life.
